Computer Background • Father hired David Newman to teach Mark about computer programming • Newman said that it was sometimes hard to keep up with Mark • He made a program called “primitive” which connected all of the computers in his house to connect his fathers dental office

Social Network at Harvard • Dating site for Harvard but then left to make his own social network with his friends • Made a site called The Facebook • Ran from his Harvard dorm room till 2004 • Dropped out of college to move the company to California
Success After Dropout Decision • Accel invested 12.7 million dollars into Facebook which was only offered to ivy league students • His site got to 5.5 million users in December 2005
Lawsuit • Harvard connection claimed that Zuckerburg stole their idea • They said that Mark needed to pay for their business losses • Lawyers found incriminating messages of him that he purposely stole Harvard Connections idea • The initial settlement was made to 65 million dollars
