  5. BOARD ESTABLISHMENT • APEQS Order SECTION 4 Board consists of • Permanent Secretary, MoD as chairman and • 10 other members with relevant qualifications, knowledge and experience related to Architecture, Engineering and Quantity Surveying Profession

ILLEGAL PRACTICE SECTION 10 (1) / 11 (1) / 12 (1) No person shall engage in Architectural / prescribed branches of Professional Engineering / Quantity Surveying Work unless he is – a registered personnel with a practicing certificate under the direction of a registered professional with a Practicing Certificate authorisedby the Board to work in collaboration (without right to independent practice) with a registered professional with Practicing Certificate

ILLEGAL PRACTICE SECTION 11 (4) Subject to the provisions of this Order, no person shall use verbally or otherwise – the word “professional engineer” or “engineer” or any additions to or derivative of those words in connection with his designation; the abbreviation “Ir.” or “Er.” as a title before his name; or any word, name or designation that might lead to the belief that he is a registered professional engineer, unless he is a registered professional engineer.

ILLEGAL PRACTICE SECTION 10 (4) Subject to the provisions of this Order, no person shall use verbally or otherwise – the word “architect” or any other derivatives in connection with his business designation; the abbreviation “Ar.” or “Arch.” as a title before his name; or any word, name or designation that might lead to the belief that he is a registered architect, unless he is a registered architect.

ILLEGAL PRACTICE SECTION 12 (4) Subject to the provisions of this Order, no person shall use verbally or otherwise – the word “quantity surveyor”, “building economist”, “building cost consultant” or any additions to or derivative of those words in connection with his designation; the abbreviation “QS.” or “Sr.” as a title before his name; or any word, name or designation that might lead to the belief that he is a quantity surveyor, unless he is a registered quantity surveyor.

  10. ILLEGAL PRACTICE SECTION 10/11/12 (9) Any person who contravenes subsections (1), (3), (4), (6) or (8) is guilty of an offence and liable on conviction - (a) in respect of a first offence, to a fine not exceeding $10,000; and (b) in respect of a second or subsequent offence, to a fine not exceeding $20,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or both.

  20. Recent Events Presentation of Certificates to ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers (ACPE) 11 out of 38 professional engineers registered as ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers

  21. Recent Events Presentation of Certificates to ASEAN Architects (AA) and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers (ACPE) Being registered as an ASEAN Professional allows these professionals to practice across ASEAN with respect to the Mutual Recognition Agreement on Architectural and Professional Engineering Services.
