Project: Illustrated Poem • Due: • Research poems by your favorite poet • Select a poem you’d like to illustrate and • Practice reciting the poem with expression Theme - state the theme of the poem. Write several sentences supporting your statement. Author Information - Write 1 paragraph about the author (background, famous work accomplishments Poem Selection– write 1 paragraph telling why you chose this poem (What was appealing about this poem?) Be Creative Type your poem and include it in your mini-poster – your poem should be the focus of your project __________________________________________________________________________ Illustrate your poem by using computer graphics, hand drawings, or other visual tools – your poem should be elaborately illustrated

Be sure to clearly state the theme in complete sentences • Author Information:research the author and write one paragraphgiving background information on the poet • Poem Selection:what about this poem did you like? Why did you choose it? Answer this question in a well-developed paragraph-you can refer to verses in the poem that might have appealed to you
