The Role of the University’s Research Office What is Typically Not Provided: The P.I. is solely responsible for the following: Any negotiations between the P.I. and his/her chair/dean relative to salary buyouts A reduction in IDC (unless the university rate exceeds the maximum allowed by the funding agency) Proposal narrative Preparing and organizing the files to be submitted Completion of all federal forms: e.g. conflict of interest, assurance, etc. Completion of the routing form Writing and approval of the IRB protocol Completion of progress reports Completion of the final report UA Grant Proposal Writing Workshop
