Owner and Veterinarian Dr. Jessica Waldman will have owners and their dogs perform simple exercises to determine if the dog has potential muscle or joint pain, including: standing from a sit position, slow walking, circle walking, fast walking, and actively stretching the neck and back using treats. “Pawsitive Stretching” Technique Classes. Hip Dysplasia, arthritis and chronic limping issues often result in tight and/or weak muscles and painful joints. Owner and Physical Therapist Dr. Amy Kramer will lead small groups of owners with dogs in simple, effective stretching exercises that can improve and prevent common dog pains, improve mobility, and improve flexibility. “Watch Our Paws Go” Rehab Demonstrations & Tours. Some of CARE’s star doggie patients will show off what they’ve learned including hydrotherapy on the underwater treadmill; walking over Cavaletti poles; doggie squats, doggie Pilates, and other movements aimed at building a dog’s core muscles.
