Introducing Current Electricity Electric Circuit: a continuous path in which electric current flows
Introducing Current Electricity Electric cell or source: Supplies energy to move charges through a circuit.
A circuit with a battery, bulb, and wires contains different materials such as copper and plastic that control the flow of charges that go through them. Conductors: This is the material that current can pass through easily. Most metals are good conductors of electric current. Copper wires are a good conductors.
Insulator: a material that electric currents cannot pass through easily is called an insulator.
Electric Circuit: a continuous path in which electrons flow Switch: a device that controls the flow of electrons by opening or closing the circuit the circuit open closed
Circuit: The path the electricity flows through Series Circuit: A circuit that has only one path for the current
Parallel Circuit: A circuit that has more than one path for the current to travel through
Notice that the current can flow through more than one path here. This means that if one bulb goes out or is removed there is still another path and the electricity will still flow through the circuit. This is because there is more than one path. Notice that the circuit flows from the battery to one bulb than the next. This means that if one bulb is removed or burns out the single path is broken and electricity will not flow. This is because there is only one path
