What created the need for this career? The reason this career was created to design and direct dance routines for dancers. This person spends a very large amount of time editing and practicing dance routines and making sure they are on beat with the music.
Where would we be without this career? We wouldn’t have people to teach and practice dancing routines to other people for performances such as gymnastics, ice skating, cheerleading, and diving for when swimming in a pool. People would have to figure out dancing routines and timing all on their own.
Where does this job exist? This job can be found at cheerleading practice. This can also be found at ice skating rinks. This can be found at Olympic gymnastic practice.
What is the entry level pay for this career? According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, choreographers in the lowest percentile made $18,570.00 per year. Which is roughly $8.93 an hour. Also according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics choreographers in the highest percentile made $57,620.00 per year. The pay per hour was not recorded for the highest percentile.
