  2. El Pretérito: • is the past tense (“-ed”) • it talks about what happened • is a completed action Examples in English: I went to the store. I bought a shirt. I paid in cash.

  3. To form the preterite:Take the infinitive of the verb and remover the ar/er/ir. Then add the appropriate ending *Present tense changes do not happen in the preterite. Tomar tom- Hablarhabl- Comer com- Beberbeb-

  5. -í -iste -ió -imos -isteis -ieron Pretérito–er/ -ir verbs are:

  6. REMEMBER: • accents are super important! They are in the “yo” form and the “él / ella / Ud.” • -ar / -ir “nosotros” form is the same in present and preterit.
