Laredo’s Position(Interview With Tano Trevino Sr) By: Tano Trevino Jr For: Mr. Mendiola World Geography 2A
Table Of Contents • His Job. • Business. • Media Does Have an Affect. • Laredo and Mexico. • Conclusion
The following presentation is all of the interviewee’s thoughts and ideas as well as personal experiences.
His Job. • He is a branch manager working for Hygeia Dairy which is facing problems with the economy like other businesses. He has worked for Hygeia for twenty-two years and has notice massive changes that caused him to lay off some of his employees. TOC
Business. • The way the company makes money is by selling goods to consumers and lately consumers have not been buying as much as they use to. People are very cautious about how they spend there money so that hurts the company because consumers are not buying these goods so that means less profit. The lesser the money made, the lesser he can afford to pay his employees forcing him to layoff some off those same employees in the past few years. TOC
Media Does Have an Affect. • Media is used for advertising of course but it has also been warning people on what is going on in out economy as a whole. “It is a form of advertisement when they promise stimulus plans and hope for our country.” TOC
Laredo and Mexico. • The Mexican peso has greatly devaluated and it is affecting people in Laredo because it is the number one border cities in America because of all the transporting between countries. Some transporters that transport goods over to Mexico get paid in pesos and it is not as it was years ago when it was a fair amount of pay when there was a peso to dollar ratio. TOC
Conclusion • All the worry that people have should be noticed and recognized and people are becoming more desperate for money so the look for he easy way out. Crime rates are going way up compared to other years. Something will change but like everything else, it will take a while TOC
