  5. Prejudice It Means To Pre-Judge Someone, Or To Have An Opinion About Someone Without An Adequate Basis

  6. So Often We Pre-Judge Someone Based On… • Race • Religion • Gender • Age • Appearance • Financial Status • Sexual Behavior

  7. Being real means we must acknowledge that we haven’t arrived yet!

  8. “I HAVEN’T ARRIVED YET!”

  9. 2 Corinthians 5:17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

  10. Sometimes you go three steps forward, and two steps back!

  11. Let’s Take A Look At Peter Moving Three Steps Forward

  12. Acts 10:1-61 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band, 2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.

  13. Acts 10:1-63 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius. 4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.

  14. Acts 10:1-65 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter: 6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.

  15. Acts 10:9-199 On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: 10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

  16. Acts 10:9-1911 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending upon him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: 12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

  17. Acts 10:9-1913 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

  18. Acts 10:9-1916 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven. 17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,

  19. Acts 10:9-1918 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there. 19 While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.

  20. Acts 10:23-2523 Then called he them in, and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them, and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.

  21. Acts 10:23-2524 And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.

  22. Acts 10:23-2525 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.

  23. Acts 10:26But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. I’m a man just like you

  24. Acts 10:28And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean. I’m a man just like you I shall not call any mancommon or unclean

  25. Acts 10:31 & 3531 And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. I’m a man just like you I shall not call any mancommon or unclean God will hear the prayers of any man

  26. Acts 10:34Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: I’m a man just like you I shall not call any mancommon or unclean God will hear the prayers of any man God is no respecter of persons

  30. Acts 10:43-4545 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.   33. Acts 15:4-115 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

Acts 15:4-116 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. 7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

  35. Acts 15:4-118 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

  36. Acts 15:4-1110 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? 11 But we believe that through the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

  40. Galatians 2:1Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.
