He was a healthy kid and so his family enrolled him in a sports nursery at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Panchkula at the age of 14. Neerah Chopra is a Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Awardee and the Arjuna Awardee. He is also the recipient of the Param Vishisht Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, and the fourth highest civilian honor i.e., Padma Shri.
