Materials Required • 18x15x10 IBC shipping box with styrofoam insert • Large plastic bag • White sample box w/ insert. • Flexible ice blankets • Yellow absorbent sheets • Packing tape
Sample Tube Box & Insert • 2 Purple EDTA tubes • 2 Red serum tubes • Packed vertically • Purple • Purple • Red • Red
384 individual tubes = 96 donors per box Filled Sample Tube Box
Configuration 1 • IBC Shipping Box Packing Instructions TL100-13.A • Used during normal weather conditions • Maintains an internal temperature of 2-25 degrees C for up to 48 hrs • 4 Room temperature ice blankets
Configuration 2 • IBC Shipping Box Packing Instructions TL100-13.B • Used during hot weather conditions • Maintains an internal temperature of 2-25 degrees C for up to 16 hrs • 2 Refrigerated ice blankets • 2 Frozen ice blankets
Receipt of Samples • Shipment receipt date • Shipment temperature • Watch for trends • Check forecasted weather conditions • Client notification
