CATALOG and TNs MAIN ACTIVITIES • Develop their section of the formal Content Development Program • Identify metadata (Catalog) and data (TNs) gaps • Carry out training sessions on the use of metadata and data creation tools • Provide grants to institutions with high quality metadata and data to support institutional efforst to make data available through the network • Metadata and data quality control
CATALOG YEAR 1 WORK PLAN IABIN Secretariat jointly with the Catalog Coordinating Institution: • Develop the Catalog section of the Content Development Program, including identifying metadata gaps • Elaborate a Capacity Building Plan and develop training • Ellaborate a Matching Grants Plan • Ellaborate a Metadata Quality Control Plan
INVASIVE SPECIES TN YEAR 1 WORK PLAN • Develop the I3N section of the formal Content Development Program • Identify data gaps • Assess capacity building needs • Ellaborate capacity building plan • Develop a matching grant plan • Develpp a Plan to develop Invasive Species data quality control mechanism
POLLINATORS, SPECIES, SPECIMENS, PROTECTED AREAS AND ECOSYSTEMS TNs YEAR 1 WORK PLAN • No activities planned for Year 1
PRODUCTS FOR YEAR 1 • Assessment of current/potential capacity building needs of I3N and Catalog participants • Capacity building plans for Catalog and I3N • Preparation of first I3N training workshop to be conducted in 2006 • Matching Grants Plans for I3N and Catalog • Award of 1 or 2 grants under each Catalog and I3N • Plans for developing a Quality Control Mechanism for I3N and Catalog
