Women in the industry over all around 12- 13% • About 10%- 11% are Engineers • 2% in the manual area • However when looking into the 2% most are working in unskilled areas including cleaning • The true figure of those who are tradeswomen inc plant operators is around 0.7% • The majority of that 0.7% work in painting and decorating The Industry • Over 2.3 Million people work in construction more than 2 million of these are men, with the remaining 295,000 women. • There are only 36,000 more women working in construction than 20 years ago!
