  2. Overview of Breach Field Test#1 Field Test#1 was undertaken in conjunction with the workshop. The following slides provide a brief snapshot of the embankment failure process. A separate CD ROM will be available containing full details of the field work, including photos, video, recorded observations and data.

  4. 2 m Concrete threshold elevation 364.81masl 2,0 1 • Homogeneous (maximum cohesive) dam of silty clay (25% clay, >65% silt, <10% sand ) • Failure by overtopping • Optimal water content ~ 15%, 0.15 m layers, compaction by dozer • 2 layers of pore pressure gauges H = 6 m
