Milestones in XANT’s history The XANT development started with R&D on innovation drive-train concepts and aero-elastic tailoring for mid-size turbines. The XANT-21 design was initiated in Febr 2009 Nov 2009: Selection downwind concept with RISOE: Danisch Research Centre. 2010 Blade design with TU Delft & NREL Dec 2011 This first design has undergone Germanischer Lloyd Type-D Certification. A working prototype is expected by February 2014 Certification of XANT-21 by Q4-2014. 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2014 2014

Medium sized wind turbines become available and affordable for an increasing population Site requirements for medium sized wind turbines • Moderate wind conditions . • Limited planning restrictions or barriers for medium sized turbines. • Relatively high electricity prices / high fuel prices. • Local consumption. • Attractive incentive scheme. • Zero-emission / green energy awareness. For an increasing part of the world a medium size wind turbine is a financially attractive energy solution
