“Servus“ at Zillertal • the Zillertalis situated in the province of Tyrol and branches away from the Inn-Valley approximately 40 km east of Innsbruck • it is the widest southern tributary of the Inn-Valley and stretches from Strass in Zillertal to Mayrhofen • the highest mountain is the Hochfeilerwith an altitude of 3.509 metres • Zillertal consists of 25 villages with a total of approximately 33.500 inhabitants • there are 4 holiday regions: • ErsteFerienregionimZillertal • ZillertalArena, Zell-Gerlos • Mayrhofen/Hippach • Tux-Finkenberg
Customs… • Gauder Fest • has taken place in Zell am Ziller since 1428 • it is a festival with traditional clothes and costumes • the festival is well known for the “Gauder Bock“ a special beer with 7,8 % alcoholic strength and only available at the Gauder Fest • Almabtrieb • is a tradition in Tyrol which is celebrated in autumn • cows, horses, sheep and goats return from the Alps to their winter quarters down in the valley • the cattle is decked with garlands of flowers on their head and heavy bells on leather collars around their neck

Transport • with the Zillertalbahnrailway and the many bus lines, ZillertalerVerkehrsbetriebe is the most frequently used public transport provider throughout the Zillertal • the train arrives at each station every 30 minutes • the route between Jenbach and Mayrhofen is 32 km long • it is also possible to take a trip with the nostalgic Zillertalbahn steam train
