  1. ARMOURED CABLES - DEFINITION & USES! www.cabconindia.com

  2. The armoured electrical cable, a type of cable with an armoured layer made of metal or other materials (depending on the location in which the cable is installed), can guard against damage from mechanical forces, chemical fumes, corrosion, and other external factors. It has an additional layer of protection above regular wires. Steel tape armour, thick steel wire armour, and more types are available. Because they have a higher mechanical resistance than regular cables, armoured cables are better suited for direct burial. Any cable structure can have a mechanical protection layer applied to it to boost the cable's mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. It is intended for locations that are very prone to erosion and susceptible to mechanical damage. It can be laid using any technique, however direct burial in rocky locations is preferable.

  3. Armoured electrical cable differs from regular electrical cables in several ways: 1. Steel tape or steel wire is wrapped around the cable's outermost protective layer to shield it from harm from outside mechanical forces. In contrast, cross-linked cables have an outside insulating layer made of cross-linked polyethene. You can utilise armoured XLPE cable, which is an insulated cable made of cross-linked material and covered in armour. 2. The armour provides a certain amount of resistance to outside forces, and it can stop rats from nibbling cables, which eliminates difficulties with power transfer. To protect the cable, the armour should have a wide bending radius. It can also be grounded. https://www.cabconindia.com/ 3. Aluminium tape, aluminium tube, steel tape, and steel wire are among the frequently used armour materials. Steel tape and steel wire armour layers have high permeability and a good magnetic shielding effect, and they may be utilised to block low-frequency interference. Additionally, the layer permits direct burial without going through the pipe. For it is more practically used, affordable, and of high quality. https://www.cabconindia.com/

  4. 4. Armoured electrical cable is code-designated by following the standard cable symbol with a number. In the first, "2" refers to double steel tape armour, and in the second, "2" refers to a PVC sheath. Simple switch "2" to "3" if polyethene sheath is being used. For instance, YJV denotes standard cables while YJV22 denotes electrical wires with protection. 5. Armoured cables typically cost between 12 and 15 per cent more than regular cables. 6. The cable is already well-protected from the outside, whether by a steel pipe or by being placed in a location with ideal operating conditions. Ordinary wires are usable from an engineering economy standpoint. Cables with armour can resist a lot of abuse. They have advanced mechanical qualities and provide stable power transfer. In tough environments with intense weather where cables are prone to damage, armoured cables can also be employed.
