Here’s Everything You Need To Know About Binding Wires Used In Construction!

Galvanised, plastic-coated annealed, and stainless steel wire are used as binding wires. It has a softness, ductility, and strength, and maybe readily bent and knotted. Heat-treated binding wire has high strength and becomes softer. If you coat the wire in zinc, it will be more corrosion resistant. Galvanised binding wire comes in a matte or shine finish, and it's a simple way to combat the environment's detrimental impacts. PVC coated binding wire is corrosion resistant.

  1. Binding wire is used for the purpose of creating reinforcement. The term "annealed wire" refers to binding wire. Binding wire is a form of tying wire used in construction.

  2. Binding wire is used to tie the rebar together so that it remains in place without shifting. According to the design calculation and specification, we place the rebars and stirrups at the proper centre to centre distance. The rebar should not be moved from its original position when we set the green concrete and vibrate it. Binding wires of the appropriate gauge are used to securely connect the rebar. The weight of the binding wire should be calculated as 1% of the overall weight of the reinforcement bar. If the total weight of the rebar is 100 kilogrammes, the approximate weight of binding wire required is 1 kilogramme. So, for every tonne of rebar purchased, we must purchase 10 kilograms of binding wire. However, depending on the diameter of the rebar and other criteria that we will examine in the next question, the weight of the binding wire required for 1 tonne of rebar might range from 7kg to 13kg.

  3. A Binding Wire is adaptable enough to meet a variety of requirements. The tensile strength of the wires makes it easier to tie knots without breaking them. The wires remain soft after annealing, making application easier. They make it easier to pour concrete into the frames without damaging the rebar. Holding lapped bars in an optimal place helps secure secondary frame designs like chairs and spacer bars in construction. The following parameters influence the amount of binding wire used in the construction: 1. Reinforcement bar diameter. 2. The distance between the rebars. 3. The structural member's type. 4. Binding wire gauge and the kind used 5. Wire binding tying or binding methods selection 6. Manually tying with a hook or mechanically tying with rebar tying equipment. 7. The structure's type (like building, dam, bridge, etc).
