The Little Blue Butterfly By Reagan Herring
One day, there was a little blue butterfly who wanted to make a cupcake. She looked in the cupboard for flour. She didn’t have any at all. She went to her friends for help.
She yelled through the window at Kadie the caterpillar “I need flour.” “I can’t help. I’m too busy getting my tan,” said Kadie. She flew to her other friend Tom the ant and said, “Do you have any flour?” “NO! I’m way too busy getting food.”
So Blue Butterfly found a tree and fell asleep. Then two hours later she woke up and remembered about the flour. She went to her friend Moth. Blue Butterfly said, “Do you have flour?” “Yes,” said Moth, “And you need help.”
The friends got the ingredients and went to Butterfly’s house and they started working. When they were done mixing the cupcakes, they put them in the oven. They waited and waited and waited.
The oven timer ticked and Butterfly yelled, “They are done!” Kadie and Tom asked, “Can we have one?” Butterfly said, “No! You didn’t help me and you said “No!” to me.” And the butterfly and the moth ate the cupcakes.
Meet the Author Hi! My name is Reagan and I wrote this story. I was inspired by the story of The Little Red Hen. Now, I want to write another story where the animals work together and share their food. I love being an author!
