  6. Stem Packing Bellville washers The PBM sanitary ball valve has live loaded stem packing while the Waukesha butterfly has no stem packing & uses the primary seal between the disc and seat as their stem seal

These features also assist in temperature fluctuations and misaligned actuator mounting.
