2. How is their geography, climate, and natural resources connected to their daily life and/or jobs? • Landforms/Physical Features-Germany has rivers like the Rhyne, Panube, and Elbe Rivers. Plateaus like the Gau Plateaus and the Rhine-Hesse Plateau. It has a variety of mountains and just to name a few they would be Zugspitze, Brocken, Watzmann, Hochblassen, Schneefernerkopf, Dreitorspitze, and Feldberg. As you can see, Germany is covered with landforms. Also Germany covers 137,803 square miles and is just smaller than Montana but 90 times the amount of people.

3. How is their geography, climate, and natural resources connected to their daily life and/or jobs? • Climate- Germany’s climate is temperate, they have mild summers and wet winters. Winter temperatures range from about 21 degrees to 35 degrees and in summer it ranges from about 64 degrees to 68 degrees. As you can tell the weather for the most part year round is cold in Germany. In southern Germany precipitation is higher.

4. How is their geography, climate, and natural resources connected to their daily life and/or jobs? • Natural Resources- Natural resources in Germany include coal, lignite, natural gas, iron ore, copper, nickel, uranium, potash, salt, construction materials, timber, and arable land.

5. How it is connected to their daily life and/or jobs Well, since Germany is covered in a lot of mountains, they tend to have different jobs, and not have a lot of farming. In daily life they have to wear warm clothing because of the harsh weather conditions. Because of the abundance of natural resources, they are able to mine a lot of coal, copper, etc. So you can obviously see how their geography, climate, and natural resources affect their daily life and jobs.

7. What does the economic data reveal about their quality of life? • The economic data reveals that they are a developed country. This is obvious because US is a developed country and Germany is almost identical to the US economic data. They also have a high standard of living, which means the economic level in which a family lives. This is because their poverty rate is only 15.5% and the unemployment rate is 6.5% which is really good compared to the US which is 9%. Another reason that shows that they are developed is that their GDP per capita is $39,100 which is close to US’s that is $48,300.

8. What do we need to know about these people to understand what makes their culture unique? • Food- Potato pancakes are my favorite type of German food. Sauerkraut, knoedle, spaetzle, mettwurst, reubens, pretzel and beer cheese, and bratwurst are also some of my favorites. What do we need to know about these people to understand what makes their culture unique? • Clothing- They usually wear European fashion trends, sloppy or over casual attire is thought of as inappropriate. They wear a lot of shorts and sandals and they also have some unique pairs of clothing like lederhosen, Dirndl leider, bavarian suits, and alpine hats.

What do we need to know about these people to understand what makes their culture unique? • Religion- 2/3 of Germany’s religion is Roman Catholic and Protestant, 4 % of Germany include Muslims and some people are just Catholic, so there are a lot of different religions that people want to be and they are not forced to choose just one. This is because they have a market not command economy.

What do we need to know about these people to understand what makes their culture unique? • Traditions- Four weeks before Christmas Germans celebrate advent just like we do where you like each candle each week until Christmas. Six Week before Easter they have a two hour parade where they throw candy to the people watching it. Another celebration is October fest and you would now what it was if you go to Cincinnati in October each year, it is a crazy festival that lasts for days. They also have Easter and have a Easter egg hunt and all of tradition we have during that time.

12. What do we need to know about these people to understand what makes their culture unique? • Art- Some famous painter and paintings are Adam Elsheimer, and he painted The Flight into Egypt. Another German painter was Paul Klee and he painted the Castle and Sun. Two more painters are Albrecht Durer who painted Praying Hands and Otto Dix who painted The Match Seller

What do we need to know about these people to understand what makes their culture unique? • Music- The most common German instrument is the accordian, but on the other hand they have a lot of pop and classical music there but obviously in a different language. They really like to play string instruments like the violin, cello, and the bass. Their celebration music include a lot of the accordian.

What do we need to know about these people to understand what makes their culture unique? • Language- The language that they speak in German, most of the people in Germany speak that language, which is the language I put for my title. 0.09% of Germans speak Sorbian, 0.08% of Germans speak Romani, 0.06% of Germans speak Danish, and 0.01% of Germans speak North Frisian, the rest is German.

What do we need to know about these people to understand what makes their culture unique? • Historical Events- In August 1914 Germany declares war against Russia and France, so the United Kingdom declared war against Germany so in this period of time Germany was a very violent country, and this led up to World War 1.

16. What makes them unique? • Well, there clothing is very different from a lot of countries, we think they look weird, but we look weird to them. Their food is also very unique, but hey, I think it is very good. They have had some rough times in the past, but now they are good. They have a lot of different traditions but still some same ones.

17. Current Event • There has been an increase in automobile buying in the United States at the end of last year because of a stabilization in the American economy. Americans were more comfortable with their economic situation so not only did they buy American made cars, but they also wanted to buy German cars because of their high quality parts and luxury. This has helped the German economy because more of their automobiles are being exported to the United States and bought by Americans.

18. How has this event affected the US? Or how has the US affected this event? • The US affected this event because the economy was good and US consumers really wanted luxury, nice cars and German cars are luxurious and nice. So the buying of German cars from the US helped Germany’s economy.
