  1. DT critical items status: HVBoards Control and Trigger Boards Assembly in Torino fgasparini june 2004

  2. HVBoards plan: Plan to produce 11000 New Boards (9250 for wheels +1,0,-1,-2 and 1750 spares) PCB Production : fifty/fifty sharing between two companies (in Germany and Italy): A preseries of 200 + 200 by end May and than delivery of alternate batches of at least 1200 PCB/month starting in 2nd half of July. Assembly: 10500 assembled in IHEP at a rate of 1200/month (1st batch back by end September to equip YB+1 chambers) 500 assembled in a back up site in Hungary at a rate of 50~60/month (first batch back by end October)

  3. HVB STATUS Both firms are late, about one month, only 25 Boards delivered by the German firm on June 18th to Aachen. Expected delivery of 200 from Germany in the week of July 5th Expected delivery of 200 from Italy in the week of June 28th. 4 of the 25 assembled and tested at twice nominal tension : good Assemble the 25 , put for a week in a chamber : check noise and crostalk for a week. If positive place the order of the first large Batch to the German firm at the beginning of July. The delivery time should be 4~5 weeks. This is enough to make a three weeks long test on a larger sample from the 400 of the preseries In case the test is positive ship to IHEP, in the second half of July, a number of 200 ~ 300 PCBs . Components for 2000 boards are already available but few, already ordered. Big orders for the full lot of components are being sent out.

  4. MINICRATES; Read out part (ROB) assembled and tested in CIEMAT Trigger (TRB) and final Control (CCB),whose layer covers the ROBs, are installed in Legnaro (LNL) and ,by September , also in Bologna. 10 R-out MC available in may, 16 more are due at beginning of July. Three Minicrates assembled in June : 1 MB1,1 MB2 and 1 MB3 The MB2 was shipped on June23rd to Bologna. The assembly in LNL depends on availability of CCB: the first 6, out of a preserie of 40, arrived on June 23rd with a delay of two months. They are fine. Green light given on June25th for the missing 34. They are expected by end of July. TRB for 5 Minicrates are available and tested from the first preserie (that showed a very bad yeld ) TRB for 7 more Minicrates delivered (two months delay) on Friday 18th The test is planned the week of june 28 th.

  5. The failures in the TRB are due to mistakes in the assembly, that is quite delicate. The rate of Boards to be “reworkwd” should reach few percent before entering into the mass production. It was 16% in the first preseries. In case the second preseries is approved a first batch of 200 TRB will be available in the second half of september. Summary: (if everything is fine): TRB for 12 Minicrates and CCB for 6 are available today in LNL Next CCB for 34 MC available at end July Next TRB for 30 MC available mid September The general plan is still that shown in the May LHCC meeting (next slide) Pictures of different phases of assembly of a MC are also included. The rate/site is expected to be 1MC/3 working days (~ 8 MC/month/site)

  9. TORINO One (of two) tables fully operational: Assembled 4 SL (the first is a dummy without strips, 3 are complete, operational SLs) A 5th SL under assembly ( at June 25th). Mechanics within the specs. Gas tightness and HV tests started, and completed for 1 SL. Assembly rate ~ 3 SL/month/table (in theory 1.5 ch./Month with 1 table) First SL in the second Table will be assembled in the 2nd half of July

  10. The graph shows the number of calendar days taken in the sites to assemble a SL (mechanics only) . Torino reached the nominal figure of 15 c.d. at the first SL ( 9 w.d. = 14 c.d.)

  11. 40 chambers (80 Superlayers, of the largest MB4) have to be produced in Torino. . The Torino target End inst.window (V 34.0) chambers needed ?achievable in Torino?
