  3. Transcript Review • Different GPAs • Class Rank ranked by Total GPA • Credit Summary Box • 240 Credits • CAHSEE Math and ELA Your transcript is a LEGAL document is important to do well all year! Not just during the Fall semester of your senior year. Everything matters!

A) Social Studies 30 credits 20 credits (30 rec) B) English 40 credits 40 credits C) Math 30 credits 30 credits (40 rec) D) Science 20 credits 20 credits (30 rec) E) Foreign Language 10 credits 20 credits (30 rec) or F) Visual & Performing Art 10 credits* 10 credits G) Elective 80 credits 10 credits Physical Education 20 credits Health 5 credits ICT Foundations 5 credits * High school graduation requirement: 10 credits combined in fine arts, foreign language, or career tech.

  5. College Admissions The Admissions Process has Several Components • Grades • A-G Requirements • Good Grades – C or better • Level of coursework • SAT/ACT scores • Extra-Curricular Activities - Community Service, Sports, Theater, Band, Clubs, Leadership, Internships, Youth Groups…

College Admissions Testing • ACT plus ACT Writing www.ACT.org - or - • SAT I (Reasoning Test) www.collegeboard.com • SAT II (Subject Tests) NOT REQUIRED Options - history, literature, science, language other than English, or mathematics level 2 only • A few UC campuses already have determined SAT Subject Test recommendations for specific colleges or schools, and majors. • May assist your admissions chances for the more difficult majors: Engineering, Science, Math

  9. NCAA • www.eligibilitycenter.org • You better be registered ALREADY! • You must request to have your Official Transcript sent directly to the Clearinghouse • ACT/SAT scores must be sent directly to the Clearinghouse • Academic requirements just as important as A-G’s

  10. Recommendations • Pay Attention to Deadlines! There are no exceptions once you have missed a deadline • Create a Post High School binder to keep copies of all applications, LOR, resume, and important documents • Begin your FAFSA by applying for your PIN at https://pin.ed.gov/PINWebApp/pinindex.jsp, once you have your PIN begin the FAFSA application at www.fafsa.ed.gov • Take the ASVAB if you are interested in the military this Fall • Check out our College and Career Center for ongoing information about colleges and scholarships.

  18. Accessing Naviance You can log-in from school, home….anywhere!!! • Username: first four letters of your last name+ the last four digits of your student number • Password: first name initial + last name initial + last four digits of your Permanent ID
