2. The Referee Team The Referee and two Assistant Referees (ARs) are the THIRD TEAM on the field and this team determines the quality of the match

4. ADVISE and ASSIST the Referee – before, during and after the game. Advise the Referee on offside, out-of-play on goal-line and touch-line, fouls and other events. Assist the Referee by supervising substitutions, backing up time, backing up game notes (score, cautions, send-offs, etc.) ARResponsibilities

Attacker other than player that scores is guilty of the offside infraction (in AR’s opinion) The AR Mechanics are to… Offside Advice • Stop & hold position at attention (with flag down at side) • Make eye contact with Referee • Signal “see me”, if he continues to make eye contact (he may need help)
