CHECK FORM 11s AND 12s We encourage you to check your FDP Form 12s against your FDP Form 11s to be sure that you have arranged to have all commodities delivered in a timely manner. Any commodities that are left at the commercial distributor beyond May 31, 2008, without a “Hold Form” will be transferred to another eligible recipient agency during the summer.
Check the list of cancellation notices on the CNP web site, under Food Distribution so you will know the commodities that have been cancelled for the 2007-2008 SY and mark them off your FDP Form 11.
CURRENT YEAR CLOSEOUT FOR 2007-2008 1) Notify your distributor when you will place your last order for this year. 2) Those of you participating in the SFSP should: a) contact your distributor with a list of items you will need this summer b) place your orders in a timely manner 3) As we approach the end of the school year, please help distributors by allowing “on bid” substitutions to help deplete existing inventories especially for items like chips that have a short shelf life. 4) Inform the state if your distributor fails to fill your orders through the end of the school year. Cont’d • INITIAL ORDERS FOR THE 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR 1) Pace your initial orders for the start of next school year prior to leaving school for the summer. 2) Place your first two weeks worth or ten days worth of orders prior to leaving school for the summer. 3) Do not order excessively, remember the initial orders to start school are always large and distributors only have so much space. 4) Contact your distributor no later than three weeks prior to the first day of meal service to schedule your initial delivery. 5) Print or reprint your purchase orders immediately prior to your first deliveries so that the invoice prices and your purchase order prices will match.
DOD CHANGES FOR 2008-2009 • IT APPEARS THAT OUR DOD ENTITLEMENT FOR NEXT YEAR WILL DROP BY ABOUT $32,517 LEAVING US ABOUT $924,159 TO SPEND ON FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. • THE DEFENSE SUPPLY CENTER IN PHILADELPHIA COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS DOD, IS UNDERGOING SIGNIFICANT BUSINESS CHANGES WHICH WERE TO BE EFFECTIVE 10/1/2006. (ALTHOUGH A FEW STATES DID GET STARTED THIS YEAR – IT DID NOT GO WELL.) • MOST OF YOU DID A MUCH BETTER JOB OF PULLING YOUR DOD FRESH ITEMS THIS YEAR- THANK YOU.
