  2. Friday, March 28 • You must return the completed tryout packet by 4 PM in order to tryout. • NBMS- Brittany Roberts (at BMS) • LBMS- Christine Wolff • SBMS- Ashleigh Hodyniak

  3. Tryout Packet • Items that need to be submitted at that time include: • Cheerleader Application • Cheerleader Conduct Evaluation (on the application page) • A photocopy of the candidate's most recent report card • Cheerleader Constitution Contract (you may read over the constitution on the school webpage) • Parent Permission/ Consent Form

  4. Friday, April 4 • Students will be notified if they are not eligible to tryout for some reason. • Reasons a student may not be eligible to tryout: • Has been assigned to long term ISS in the current school year. • Has been in ISS in the current school year. • Not meeting UIL eligibility guidelines (failing) • Placement in DAEP

  5. Monday, April 14- Wednesday, April 16 • Mandatory cheer clinic is at BHS from 4:30- 5:30 • They will learn the cheer, chant, and dance at this clinic. They will also be given the order in which they tryout.

  6. Thursday, April 17 • Actual cheerleader tryouts • NBMS- 4:30 • LBMS- 5:30 • SBMS- 6:30 • You need to arrive 30 minutes before your tryout time.

  7. Tryouts • You may only try out for the school you will be attending the following year. • No one is allowed to watch tryouts. • All candidates must stay until the end of their school’s tryouts in case of callbacks. • In the event of a callback, the judges will let them know what portion they need to complete.

  8. Judging Criteria • Tryouts are made up of 10 categories with potential to make 10 points per category. That is a total of 100 points per judge. (3 judges = 300 points) • The categories are: spirit/enthusiasm, motions, sharpness, voice/projection, rhythm, toe-touch, jump choice #1, jump choice #2, tumbling, appearance/overall impression.

  9. Selection • Each squad will be made of up to 10 current 6th graders and up to 10 current 7th graders. • Middle School--For safety purposes, candidates’ scores must fall within a similar range for that squad; any scores significantly lower will not be considered. It is not mandatory to fill all available positions on any squad.

  10. Judges • All judges are hired outside of the district. • The cheer coaches will not be watching tryouts.

  11. Results • Results will be posted online around 8:00 PM. • Check your school’s cheerleading webpage. (North Belton’s results will be on the BMS Cheer page) • Only tryout #’s of the girls that made the squad will be posted.

  12. Cheer Camp • All selected cheerleaders must attend cheer camp. • NCA Camp at Georgetown High School Wednesday, June 18- Friday, June 20 (This is for NBMS and LBMS) • NCA Camp at Temple High School Wednesday, July 16- Friday, July 18 (This is for SBMS)
