  1. Blog 3: Caisafety.com IMPORTANCE OF HAVING A FALL PROTECTION PLAN IN PLACE The primary purpose of fall protection systems is to prevent workers from falling off onto or through lower working levels and also to protect the workers from overhead injuries caused by objects falling from a height. According to OSHA fall protection regulations all workers working at a height of 4 feet or above are now required to be protected by personal fall protection systems as prevention from vertical drops. Along with different protection gears and equipments a site manager is also required to implement a fall protection safety plan that must include the following information: Identity and designation of employees who will require fall protection at the worksite Report of a diligent fall hazard analysis Description of all fall protection systems those will be used at the site Documents and reports for equipment inspection Description of a suitable rescue plan Approving signature from the concerned authorities. Apart from having all fall protection products and equipments in place it is also the responsibility of the employer to inform and train all employees about the use of these safety equipments and also make them familiar with the best practices for using them. Employees must not be allowed to use their personal fall protection equipments, for OSHA clearly states that it is the job of the employer to provide them with all necessary gears. If you are related with the construction industry and want to ensure maximum safety for your workplace you must have fall protection systems in place and for more information, you can visit Caisafety.com.
