  1. What are the steps to Format Gmail Emails? Gmail, one of the most popular web-based mailing system provides Two mail interfaces, namely plain and rich text. In Plain text formatting, a user is generally restricted to simple text with newline and spaces, whereas in rich formatting, Gmail provides many accustomed tools such as text effect, font color, font size, and alignment tools.

  2. By default, the text formatting provided by Gmail is plain text which a user can change to rich text if he or she wishes to by following a simple series of steps. Also, one can simply contact Gmail technical support for additional assistance.

  3. STEP 1- Sign in to your Gmail account and hit the red plus icon on the bottom(if you are on a phone) or click on the Red plus icon with create new mail on the top left(if you are on your PC). STEP 2- Select Rich text formatting just above the email body, It will transform the window and take you to a series of icons such as Bold(B), Italics (I), Underline(U).

  4. STEP 3- Select the icon you want to apply for this text, and with the text being highlighted, this formatting will be applied to it. STEP 4- Click F for font type, any of the 3 “T” for font’s size, color. Highlighting with an order being left for Size, middle for color and the rightmost for highlighting your file.

STEP 7-Alignment is necessary to provide your mail an authentic and formal look and you can align your text to left, right or center with the alignment option provided by Gmail, these icons are compromises of five horizontal line with left alignment icons line aligned left and so on. The location of these Icon varies depending you are using phone or desktop. STEP 8- Quotes are sometimes necessary for emails for directly quoting something and you can add this option by simply clicking on the quotation marks.
