  2. Stopping felon • Run plate • Stop car • Radio backup

  3. Communication with Felon • Cover behind door • Draw side arm • Yell to throw keys out of the window • Repeat command to keep hands out of the window • Wait for backup

  4. BACK UP ARRIVES • PULLS UP ALONG SIDE SQUAD • YELL POLITLY TO GET OUT OF VEHICLE • TELL TO SLOWLY WALK BACK • REPEAT TO BACK UP TO YOUR VOICE

  5. Felon cuffed • Tell to get down to their knees • Cover officer will cuff from behind • Keep sidearm on the vehicle • Demand for any other occupants to remove themselves from vehicle

  6. Quick demo • I will now handcuff the gingfor 2 reasons • Your amusement • Proper instruction

  7. Approaching vehicle • Get in position to approach • V-formation • Slow and tactically

  8. Clearing Vehicle • Touch trunk • Pop open back doors • Open front doors • Move back to trunk • Cover officer backs into safe spot, points sidearm at trunk • You pop it open and jump back while raising sidearm

  9. Searching vehicle • Get K-9 out • Look for- • Drugs, drug paraphernalia, weapons

  10. Things to Remember • Read Maranda rights to arrested persons • Explain clearly what their being arrested for • Nice till you cant be nice anymore than nice again • Be cautious • Serve, protect and respect • Make sure their okay
