  5. Jonny Morrell’s Webinar June 25 Evaluators often run into situations where programs act in ways, or have consequences, that nobody expected when the evaluation was begun. Sometimes when these surprises are detected the evaluation can be easily changed to accommodate new demands for information. But often the accommodation is weak because it is too late to implement data collection or analysis procedures. For the last few years Jonny has been collecting case studies and working out approaches to help evaluators do a better job of anticipating and adjusting to surprise. His work is summarized in his recent book: Evaluation in the Face of Uncertainty: Anticipating Surprise and Responding to the Inevitable. Jonny will do a webinar that will provide an introduction and overview to the problem and its solutions.
