Learning objectives for my Unit • Students will be introduced to the different types of classical Islamic art including the origins and styles of Islamic calligraphy while creating their own piece of artistic calligraphy. Students will benefit this because an understanding of other cultures basic art history significantly broadens their comprehension of connections and differences between American art and Islamic art. Students will want to learn this because the interactive lesson that explores other cultures than there own, through both individual and group activities, complemented by digital exploration and hands on expression.
