  4. Government and Law • People had rights in Sumer, but the government would take away property rights to pay for wars with other city states

  6. Activity • Create your own city-state! • Be sure to name your city-state • List at least 7 laws that people must follow in order to live in your city-state • Be creative and have fun with the fancy paper!

  7. Wrap Up • Where did most Sumerians live? How did they get the goods they needed? Where were these goods traded?
