What is ICT Information and communication technology (ICT) generally relates to those technologies that are used for creating,accessing, gathering, manipulating and presenting or communicatinginformation. The technologies could include hardware (e.g. computers and other devices); software(e.g. OS and applications); and connectivity (e.g. access to the Internet, local networking infrastructure, videoconferencing).

Network Connectivity - Broadband IX five year plan networking of all the departments with two leased lines of 64 kbps. X five year plan INFLIBNET provided the 512 kbps VSAT connectivity for networking. XI Five Plan: we have 2+mb connectivity from INFLIBNET. Presently we have 10mb broadband leased connectivity.

h-index • The index was suggested by Jorge E. Hirsch, • The h-index is an index that quantifies both the actual scientific productivity and the apparent scientific impact of a scientist. • The index is based on the set of the scientist's most cited papers and the number of citations that they have received in other people's publications. • Hirsch suggests that, for physicists, a value for h of about 10-12 might be a useful guideline for tenure decisions at major research universities. A value of about 18 could mean a full professorship, 15–20 could mean a fellowship in the American Physical Society, and 45 or higher could mean membership in the United States National Academy of Sciences.[2]
