  5. Knowing More About Bill Gates • Bill gates became the world’s youngest self – made billionaire. • He was born in 1955, Seattle, Washington • He grew up with his parents pushing him to succeed. To that end, his parents enrolled him in the Lakeside school, a private prep school where he met his future business partner Paul Allen. • In 1973 Gates entered Harvard University. While Harvard, he and his friend Paul Allen developed software for the first microcomputers (microcomputers were smaller and more affordable than earlier computers.)
