  1. Ender’s Game By: Matt Power http://www.hatrack.com/osc/books/endersgame/endersgame.shtml

  2. Chapter one. • The setting in the book changes between three places: Earth, Battle School, and Command School. Ender chooses to go from his home to the Battle School in space. His home is in a suburban neighborhood on Earth. It includes a school that has a lot of gangs. Then a major turning point happens and he gets sent to a space Battle School. Obviously, the setting is in the future and our technology is vey different from our current technology. Earth is in a time of great turmoil as they prepare for the Third Invasion of the buggers, a bug-like alien species that nearly destroyed the Earth twice before. Human families are limited to two children and if they have a third, that child doesn’t have as much rights as “normal people” do. At a young age, children have a ‘moniter’ surgically implanted in them. The government watches them through the moniter and analyses if the children are eligible for Battle School. • S http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth This represents the battle school. This is Earth. http://paintedocean.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.htm This represents the Command School.

  3. The Neighborhood. • The neighborhood is suburban, much like mine. Ender lives in North Carolina. The house seems nice and big. Peter and Ender’s room has a bunk bed and a small dresser. The kitchen has a big table with a TV. The school doesn’t seem as nice as the neighborhood is. There are lots of gangs. In fact, Ender gets cornered by a gang at the beginning of the book. http://www.angelfire.com/de2/detroitpix/CassTech1.ht • S • http://www.citywideclosing.com/le_sale_trans.php

  4. The Battle School • The Battle school isn’t like Ender’s old school, though. This school is in space and is very big. It is unclear where exactly it is located in our solar system, but the author left some hints that suggest that it is located in the asteroid belt. The author also tells us that it is in the region where the often referred to Battle of the Belt was fought. Inside is a different story. There is a cafeteria and barracks for all of the armies. The main story is the battleroom and the gameroom. In the gameroom, commanders play make-believe games to gather knowledge of war. The battleroom is where they test tat knowledge. Two or more armies battle each other with freeze guns to get to the opponents gate. • http://depblog.weblogs.us/tag/spaceships/ • S This is the Battle School from the outside.

  5. The Command School Near the end of the book, Ender gets promoted to Command School. This school is located on a Pluto-like planet called Eros. In the book, it is the former bugger outpost during the First in Invasion of Earth. Underneath the surface, small corridors connect simulator rooms where commanders simulate real battles for future generals. Ender is just one of these children that gets promoted to this school. S This is what I would imagine Eros would look like.

  6. Chapter 2Character one.Ender Wiggin. • Ender is the main character in the story . He is a six year old who is very smart. In some ways he reminds me of Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars. Ender is very intelligent and strong. On the mental side, he is afraid, weak, but gradually getting more experienced. He is the icon of all little brothers. He is bullied on earth and when he first arrives in Battle School. Ender is also a dynamic character. Ender is a Third in his family and is bullied because he doesn’t have many rights. Although, he gets the privilege to go to Battle School because he is intelligent in the ways of defending himself from bullies and gangs. C Ender is a dynamic character because as he gets older, he becomes less afraid, stronger, and more experienced

  7. Character twoPeter. • Peter is the icon of all older brothers. He is very cruel to his younger siblings, Ender and Valentine. Especially Ender. Peter is cruel to him because he didn’t pass the monitor test, while Ender did. He is cruel to Valentine for the same reason. He has dark, thick, black hair and, according to the book, “… a face that could have belonged to Alexander the Great.’’(10). He is also very strong, considering he’s only ten in the beginning of the book. He is arrogant, stubborn, and hungers for power. But, he still loves his brother and sister. Peter is a dynamic character. and doesn’t appear much after Ender is enrolled into Battle School. • C Peter is a dynamic character because after Ender leaves, he starts to care more about school and in some ways, his own family.

  8. Character threeValentine • Valentine is the sister of Ender and Peter. She is older then Ender, but younger than Peter. She loves Ender more than Peter because peter is cruel to him and her. She is short and pretty and does not like Peter at all because he is so mean to her and Ender. Valentine is very frail, but compassionate and selfless. She is a static character. • http://thinkprogress.org/alyssa/2011/12/22/394676/enders-game-valentine/?mobile=nc • C I think this girl would be a good actor for Valentine in the upcoming movie

  9. Final characterColonel Graff • Colonel Graff is just one of the heads of the Battle School. He’s like the principle of the Battle School, but much more harsh than regular principles. He is around 50 years old and is very experienced in the I.F(International Fleet). In the beginning of the book, he comes to Ender’s home to recruit him. He seems nice there, but when Ender is launched into the School, he’s not as nice as you think. He is unusually caring for Ender and is cruel to the other boys in the Battle School In the upcoming movie, Harrison Ford is scheduled to actor for Colonel Hyrum Graff. • http://www.screenclick.com/Community/News.aspx?a=10135 • C Colonel Graff is a static character, although near the end, he becomes fat.

  10. Plot Pages. Part one: Rising Action. • Ender nearly kills Stilson. • Colonel Graff arrives to recruit Ender. • Ender agrees to go to Battle School. • Ender nearly kills Bernard. • Ender keeps being promoted to bigger and better armies. • Ender gets his own army. • Ender’s army keeps winning battles. • Ender nearly kills Bonzo. • P • http://article.wn.com/view/2011/11/30/Asa_Butterfield_to_Star_in_Enders_Game/ This is a representation of Graff recruiting Ender

  11. Climax There are five climax's in the first book of the Ender’s Game trilogy. • Ender gets promoted to Command school on the former bugger outpost of Eros. • Mazer Rackham is not dead. Mazer is the person who destroyed the bugger fleet in the First Invasion. • Ender passes the final command test. • As Ender was taking the final test, a real battle was happening and he was the commander and he didn’t even know it. He beat the buggers. • All the armies on earth begin to fight a war over Ender’s intelligence. • P

  12. Falling action • Mazer teaches Ender more advanced battle tactics. • Mazer teaches his own experience fighting the buggers. He explains the biology, and a little bit of psychology of the buggers. • Ender is able to connect with old friends from Battle School. Mazer allows him to teach them some command tactics. • Ender builds a simulated army with his friends. • Some of his friends like Petra crack down from the pressure of the simulator and leave . • Ender begins to miss his home. • P This is what I would imagine the buggers would look like. http://sciencefiction.com/2012/03/04/interstellar-command-the-ansible/

  13. Conflict. • Man vs. man: Ender struggles to deal with bullies like Peter, Bernard and Bonzo. • Man vs. self: Ender struggles with the concept that he will be able to command a fleet when he is older. • Man vs society: Ender hates the I.F for not telling him that he’s basically a pawn. • C

  14. One unlikely person can make a big difference. • The resolution: Ender and Valentine leave for the bugger colonies to learn history and to start knew life. Earth is to crowded so Ender is taking some humans with him to start a new world. Peter unites Earth under his “rule” and, in the end, dies at the age of seventy-seven. As for Ender and Valentine and the rest of the new colony, you could say they lived happily ever after.
