Thank You For Being My Guiding Star (Virtue) By: Michael Lopez
Mom, I was a little star not knowing where to go. It felt like I was going toward the black hole.
Then one day you saved me and became my guiding star.
I know I started out dim, however by your side I have started to show the light within.
Don't worry mom I will never explode. I will always keep on shining until I am the brightest star in the sky.
Thank you mom for being my guiding star and lighting the way.
An Original Poem By: Marisa J. Rivera Character First:Tolerance
My dearest Mother, My darling father My life is the world Complete with all of the world’s good And bad things
There are politicians who argue for dominance over one Another, There are countries who wage war on one another, There are nuclear weapons that fire which are returned with Sorrows
But there are comedians To relieve the tension There are events To occupy useless time And there is love’ To carry the burden Of that which is unwanted
My life is the world Complete with the tolerance of all The world’s good And bad things But there is hope that one day There will be world peace And on that day, the world, my life Will be complete
MARCUS CANTUMrs. McMurrey “INITIATIVE”CHARACTER FIRST“FIREWORK”
I am a firework, before it goes off, everyone waiting on me Waiting as I get dressed for school, for church, to finish my workSometimes they’re disappointed sometimes they’re amazedMy Dad trying to teach me PUNCTUALITY
I am a firework, unique I am like no other Always feeling COMPASSIONfor those in need My Mom says this is one of my best traits
I am a firework on New Year’s Eve, costlyNot always getting the things I ask forLearning I need to be RESPONSIBLEIn order to get what I want
I am a firework when I pitch, soaring with great forcePitching I love; it’s what they say I do bestLeaving the audience saying, “Wow!!!”While my older brother reminds me the importance of HUMILITY
I am a firework working hard to pleaseNot always easy with everyone watchingWill I soar? Will I dwindle? Will I reach the sky?GRATEFULfor the chance to show them all I can do!
