  2. Memory Scanning-Saul Sternberg • Question: How do we scan through items in memory? • We might suppose that we compare the item to other items stored in memory • Serial vs. Parallel search • Self-terminating vs. exhaustive search • If Self-Terminating: Fixed-Order vs. Random-Order search
