Basic Working Principle Solenoid: When the solenoid coils are energized by an input voltage, the plunger is moved by the force equation: F = βLI where β = μ(N/L)I, μ is the permeability of the material, N is the number of windings, L is the length of the plunger, and I is the current through the windings. Basic Working Principle Solenoid: Two types of solenoids exist: pull and push. These work based on the magnetic force produced by the coil around the plunger.
