Module 12 Making it Happen Objectives • Plan a balanced programme • Use a wide variety of sources, methods and themes to generate exciting and relevant programme ideas • Involve young people in planning through the use of Sectional, District and County forums, conferences and committees • Use the Self-Review process to support and enhance programme planning
Module 12 Making it Happen Good Planning • Ensures The Scout Associations Aim and purpose are achieved by using the Programme Zones over a year • Encourages the involvement of young people • Promotes young people’s progression and development • Ensures a wide variety of activities and methods • Encourages teamwork both among young people and the adult leadership team • Encourages the provision of opportunities for all

Module 12 Making it Happen Create a Planned and Balanced Programme In Groups plan a balanced programme for 14 weeks from September to December Choose one week and plan a detailed evenings programme The plan should include: • Relevant Programme Zones and/or theme • Activities • A variety of Groupings
Module 12 Making it Happen Review • Looks back on what has been happening • Looks forward considering what support may be needed • Should take at least once a year • Not just about problems but also about celebrating success
