  4. ลักษณะ แผ่นอลูมิเนียม2แผ่น2ด้านประกบด้วยแผ่นพลาสติก เส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง ประมาณ30ซม.

  5. เทียบขนาดกับซีดีรอม(เส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง12ซม.)

  6. การทำงาน ทำงานคล้ายกับซีดีรอม บันทึก/อ่านข้อมูลด้วยแสงเลเซอร์กึ่งตัวนำ

  7. ประเภทของ Laserdisc CAV Constant Angular Velocity เป็นมาตรฐานของการเล่นแผ่นดิสก์ มีความจุด้านละ 30 นาที(มี2ด้าน) สามารถทำการเล่นภาพนิ่ง, เล่นภาพช้า, เล่นภาพทีละเฟรม และทำการค้นหาเฟรมภาพได้

  8. CLV Constant Linear Velocity สามารถเล่นได้นานเป็นสองเท่าของเวลาในการเล่นด้วยแผ่นCAV ไม่สามารถใช้ฟังก์ชั่นการเล่นภาพแบบต่าง

  9. ด้านภาพยนตร์ ถูกใช้เป็นสื่อภาพยนตร์มากที่สุด ได้รับความสนใจจากผู้ผลิตภาพยนตร์ จำนวนมาก
