Education I am a Final Year student in Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology studying for a BA in Finance. I have specialised in International Financial Markets and am completing my dissertation on the systematic effect of the weak dollar on international currency markets. I have achieved 2.1’s throughout my time at GMIT and am confident of achieving a 2.1 or perhaps a 1st this year Skills I am motivated and driven and have shown this by combining working and studying over the last three years. I’m a confident communicator and have led many debating and sports society activities in college. I enjoy interacting with people and have been involved with customer facing activities for many years. I like setting challenges for myself and last year completed the Dublin City Marathon. Tell me about yourself…Sample Experience I have spent a summer working in the Corporate Banking industry and have a clear grasp of the issues facing the industry. I also have a strong working knowledge of industry terminology. I have maintained a good network of friends and ex colleagues in the industry and they keep me up to date on the latest developments. In my part-time telesales job I am responsible for generating direct marketing revenues from 45 clients so I know what is involved in maintaining client relationships. Career Objective I want to build on my knowledge of the industry and become a Corporate Banking Relationship Manager with my own portfolio of clients. I want to do this with a market leader where my skills and enthusiasm will be rewarded, and where I can make a real difference to the company’s success

I enjoyed the subject and received a 2.1 at final exams. Discussing the interest with a friend of mine who is a Chartered Accountant he advised me to gain some practical accounting experience. I secured a position in a small accountancy firm over the summer and this experience convinced me that accountancy was the career path I wanted to follow. In addition as Treasurer of my GAA club for the last two years I enjoyed the experience of being responsible for the financial affairs of the club. I attended a seminar in college where I received details of your training and career opportunities. Having studied your literature and talked with one of your staff, (Samantha Ryan) at the Careers Fair I am confident that I have the leadership, analytical and teamwork skills required to face the challenges of working with one of the leading accountancy firms in Ireland.
