History Graduate Student Computer Lab • College Hall 214A • Six computers • Two printers • One scanner • Lab access is 24/7/365 by key • You will need a special account to log on to the lab computers. Please use the form online to request your account: https://www.ssc.upenn.edu/web_account_services/lab_acct_request.html • You will be notified by email when your account has been created. Please stop by College Hall 216B to retrieve your key • Accounts expire the last weekday of every May. Please contact me by phone, email, or in person to renew your account

  3. Computer Specifications • Dell Optiplex 755s and 760s • 2 GB RAM • 2.33-2.66 GHz Intel Core Duo processors • 160 GB hard drives • PC #6 is connected to an HP Scanjet 8300 scanner

  4. Software • Windows 7 64-bit Professional • Microsoft Office 2007 Professional • Filezilla (FTP program) • VLC media player • Firefox • Adobe Reader • Real Player • Quicktime • PDF Creator • Symantec Endpoint Protection • PC #6 also includes Readiris Pro (OCR software) and Adobe Creative Suite 3 Web Premium (Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, etc.)

Printing • Printer #1: single-sided sheets at $0.04/sheet • Printer #2: double-sided sheets at $0.06/sheet • Swipe your Penncard at the print release station located next to the printers to release your documents • Replacement toner cartridges and paper can be obtained from the department office • Paper can be recycled at various points in College Hall and elsewhere on-campus • Used toner cartridges can be returned to the department office for recycling

  6. Adding cash to your Penncard for printing • Your Penncard is required in order to pay for and release your documents from the lab printers • The quickest and easiest way to add cash to your Penncard is online:http://www.business-services.upenn.edu/penncard/cash/online.html
