A lavoura cafeeira • Foi em 1727 que o oficial português Francisco de Mello Palheta, vindo da Guiana Francesa, trouxe as primeiras mudas da rubiácea para o Brasil. • As mudas foram plantadas no Pará se expandindo posteriormente pelo Rio e Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Vale do Paraíba e Oeste de São Paulo.
