IntelliConnect Development Review Our goal with IntelliConnect is to enable your research to soar to new heights. • We continue to work in partnership with you, our customers, to gain the feedback that enables us to make meaningful enhancements to the platform and meet your needs with skyrocketing success. • We have engaged you throughout the development of our two enhancement releases version 2.1 (July 2010) and 3.0 (Dec 2010).

  3. IntelliConnect Release 2.1 While most of you liked IntelliConnect’s global search capabilities that enabled powerful search across multiple platforms and a vast array of content, others told us they wanted easier-to-find tools for pre-search scoping (e.g. improved Browse Tree, tools for setting up Practice Areas/Favorites, and tools to find publications). We addressed these needs and more, with our July 4th enhancement release 2.1. “The new browse tree format is much more user-friendly. Besides the browse tree, I like how the support information and forms are much more easily accessible.” "The new IntelliConnect enhancements such as the Titles A-Z feature make it much easier for our users to find their favorite Wolters Kluwer publications and more quickly complete their research tasks.”

IntelliConnect 2.1 Enhancements • New Home Page put key features front and center and opened the Browse Tree by default • Titles A-Z list provided instant access to all of the publications and products in a firm’s subscription • Easier to find and faster tools for setting up Practice Areas • More intuitive way to save and use Favorite content sets • ‘Relate’ link allowed targeted selection of related tax documents • Enhancement to highlighting search terms within documents • More search tabs (up to 8) and "Close All tabs" feature • Enhanced post-search filters functionality • Larger/Adjustable fonts • Ability to select and print text • Log in enhancement for Anonymous IP users • Enhancedpresentation of Trackers • Enhanced Firefox browser support “Just looked at the enhancements. Very impressive . . .yet another indication that you guys are way ahead of the curve!” “In preparation for a RIA KO this morning I ran through my presentation and found that the enhancements to IC have been understated.  The platform is now exceptional... best on the market.  We all need to look at how we are doing demos... we can all make them more powerful.”

IntelliConnect Release 3.0 • The second 2010 enhancement release, targeted for December, will compliment 2.1’s pre-search scoping tools with capabilities that will ensure the user’s most important search results are near the top of the results list.  • The IntelliConnect development team has dedicated its energy and resources to drive relevance in search results. By enabling customers to view the content most relevant to their research activities within the first page of results, we are helping to make your time more productive. • Expanded browse tree left pane– A tool to widen the browse tree’s use of horizontal space to allow users to explore the tree without moving the divider. • Other tools across browse, filtering, finding related documents and navigation enhancements will also be part of the 3.0 release. • Get the latest updates and analyses by selecting from over 140 Tracker News and 20 RLA titles in its entirety coming right to your inbox simply by setting your preferences via IntelliConnect.

IntelliConnect Release 3.0 New Search Results View Get to what you need faster and with less clicks • Search results are now clustered by news, explanations, treatises, and more. • The new View in Cluster by Document type capability saves customer clicks and improves relevance. • This allows customers to work more productively by enabling them to select clusters based upon how they need to view the search results.

  7. 3.0 Enhanced Search Capabilities Search Results by Cluster • Search results are clustered by document types by default, and the “Jump to” links take you down the page to that document type in the search results. • Clicking on the “View all xxx”, will provide a search result list of just that document type. • View the relevance sort order (long list) by deselecting the “Sort search results by document type”.

  8. 3.0 Enhanced Search Capabilities Search Results by Document Type Functionality • Refine your search results and view by document type • After clicking “View all 8873” Explanations, return to original search results by clicking the “Back to Original Search Results” button.

  9. 3.0 Enhanced Search Capabilities Specify Search Results by Filtering Document Type Functionality • Set your default search results by going into preferences.

  10. 3.0 Additional Enhancements for More Productive Search • Advanced search functionality – Makes searching more location-specific by limiting it to jurisdiction and courts. • Expose “nearby documents” - outside of document path box. Moves the “nearby documents” (read in book order) links to a fixed toolbar in the document view to expose the functionality. • Expanded browse tree left pane- Widen the browse tree’s use of horizontal space to allow users to explore the tree without moving the divider. • Ongoing enhancements focused onexpanding of existing capabilities todeepen the search results andimprove user productivity

  11. 3.0 Additional Enhancements for More Productive Search Advance Search Function to Limit the Search to Jurisdiction and Courts • Home in on specific content effectively • A new “check box” at the bottom of the window (unchecked by default) will make the advanced search setting “sticky.”

  12. 3.0 Additional Enhancements for More Productive Search Reorganized Document Navigation Clear display allows easy access to nearby documents • ‘Go to search term’ jumps the customer to each search term in the document. • ‘Read previous/read next’ lets customers view the previous/next document in the book order. • ‘Document path’ provides an easy way to determine the location of the document (now a pop-up screen).

  13. 3.0 Additional Enhancements for More Productive Search Expand or Collapse Browse to Speed Up Your Search • The “Expand All Button” opens the browse tree one level saving the customers clicks. • The “Collapse All button” closes the entire browse tree saving the customers clicks.
