OVERVIEW The Pawna dam created Pawna Lake, which is effectively an artificial lake. About 40 miles outside the boundaries of Pimpri Chinchwad city, situated in the Maval Taluka, on the Pawna River. It can hold about 10 TMC. whose construction began in 1963 and was completed in 1972. The Pawna Dam’s backwaters created a reservoir, and as a result, the area became known as Pawna Lake. Pawna Lake is Famous for its Greenery and scenic beauty. It is one of the Faviourite Place of Punekars to do pawna Lake Camping. One of the cities’s most visited locations is Pawna Dam. For a peaceful day trip, it makes the perfect vacation. The Pimpri Chinchwad region receives fresh water from the lake. Along with numerous forts including Tung, Lohgad, and Tikona, there are numerous temples nearby for anyone travelling to the lake to explore. 2

Mumbai to Pawna : Mumbai > Lonavala > Kamshet > Pawna lake, 120km From Pune, Lonavala, and Mumbai, there is decent road access to Pawna Lake. There are numerous transportation options to the lake, which is only 35 kilometres away, from the nearby town Kamshet, which is on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The closest railway line is in Lonavala, and the train route as it approaches Lonavala is quite beautiful. 4

Visapur Fort: The 3,550-foot-high Visapur Fort is an expansion of the Lohagad Fort on the Lohagad-Visapur fortification line. Tung Fort : Tung Fort is one of the most difficult forts to reach due to its elevation of 3,527 feet. There is a 400-meter incline required to get there from the Pawna Dam. 6

Tikona Fort: One of the oldest forts in the area, Tikona Fort dates to the seventh and eighth centuries A.D.
