If it is, write the word in the blank space of their paper. • Highlight every other sentence; this shows sentence length. Look for run-ons or fragments. Place a star next to any run-on or fragment. • Place a check mark next to the “Coming of Age” moment. Was there a lesson learned by the person interviewed? • Locate all direct “quotes”, place two check marks next to each quote. There should be at least three. • Locate indirect quotes, place a smiley face next to one.
Ratiocination cont….. • Place a + sign next to one example of imagery • Check for spelling, punctuation (quotation marks used properly), capitalization and transitions. Your paper should have transitions within paragraphs and introducing paragraphs. If they are not there, add them. • Lastly, read their final paragraph. If, not notate it. • Hand back the paper to the original owner and begin to work on thecorrections for your final draft which will be completed in class tomorrow!
