Equilibrium Constant (Kc). For the reaction:. aA + bB ↔ cC + dD. Kc = [C] c [D] d. [A] a [B] b. Note : A pure solid or liquid has a constant concentration & does NOT appear in the equilibrium expression. The Meaning of Kc.

The Meaning of Kc If Kc is very large ([products] >> [reactants] at equilibrium), then the reaction will proceed nearly to completion. If Kc is very small ([products] << [reactants] at equilibrium), then hardly any products form. If Kc is 1, [products] = [reactants] at equilibrium.
