World Series • San Diego Padres vs. New York Yankees • Padres were leading the 1st game of the best of 7 series, but the Yankees came back to score 7 runs in the 7th inning to take the game 9-6 • Yankees pound the Padres for a 9-3 victory in game 2 • Scott Brosius of New York hits 2 home runs in what looked like a Padres victory, but the Yankees end up winning 5-4 • The Yankees win 3-0 to win the World Series ending the Padres incredible season
Unforgettable Season • Though the Padres lost in a sweep to the Yankees in the World Series, they still proved they were a force to be reckoned with by being underdogs to the Astros and Braves and winning. It gave hope to Padres fans all over the country and gave them something to remember. No one will ever forget this unforgettable year in baseball history
