Indian academics is far away from creating IPR’s in world comparison. • Context –numbers • IIT’s , COEP…. • Why ? • Arrangements in academic institutes and Industry • Ornamental relationships – IBM, ZENSAR etc • University system- Autonomy, Flexibility, etc • Solid foundations in terms of project partnerships necessary – Reliance Experience • Professor’s are not in market -they are in books • They need to go in search of requirements of society to turn in to products- …snake bites , farm management • Foreign University bill 2011 pending

  3. How GISFI responding to the situation • I4CT 2013/2014 • PBL pedagogy • Collaborative arrangements- GISFI PhD with AAU and EU fellowships • Intense industry collaborations in design itself • Appeal to join
